10th Anniversary Ball a glittering success
Date Posted: 05 December 2011It was a chance for KOP to say thank you to our many supporters who have been wth us over the last decade, a chance to spend time with project partners, a chance to celebrate KOP's achievements so far together and a chance to raise more vital funds to support our work with orphaned and vulnerable children in Western Kenya.
A friendly drinks reception was followed by gasps of awe as the guests entered the newly refurbished Lancaster Ballroom in The Savoy.
A fantastic meal from the kitchen run by Gordon Ramsey's company was accompanied by 3 new films from Adam Millbank, giving an insight into where KOP began, the work currently ongoing and what the future holds for the charity.
The auction saw lots as varied as spa vouchers, exclusive Wembley tickets and photography sessions. The biggest amounts being taken for a luxurious Kenyan safari holiday and a once-in-a-lifetime yachting experience aboard Lionheart.
With thousands of pounds being raised from the raffle too, guests helped KOP to raise important funds that will be used to help more children thrive through health and education.
Long standing and generous supporters of KOP; the Park Lane Big Band finished off the evening in swinging style and had everyone on their feet dancing the night away. It was over all too soon and the guests slowly driften away into London's chilly night time breeze.
A huge thank you from all at KOP to those who helped make the night such a success; Adam Millbank, David Trick, Clive Andrerson, Dave Pedler and The Park Lane Big Band, Sophie Mills, Simon Deery, Isabella Dabby, Katy Wild, Rishi Mistry, Denise Osei-Kuffour and Rachel Becker.
A very special mention also to KOP's Director of Fundraising, Frances Lloyd who worked tirelessly over the past few months to bring together such a fantastic event.
Photos from the night are available on our flickr and facebook pages. A wee video or two is making it's way to youtube too!
